My Right Toe Nail

It was after solat Witir at Masjid Uniten last night, when I was adjusting my right foot to sit properly, that I suddenly felt a sharp pain on my right toe nail. It lasted for a few seconds.  So I just ignored it.

Then when I arrived home, I took off my socks and took a look at my toe nail.  Nothing abnormal so I went to the kitchen and have mee hoon soup.  Always hungry after Teraweeh. Hehehe....

When I woke up for Sahoor this morning, and was removing my socks (I slept with socks on) to go to the bathroom, that I felt that sharp pain again.  So I removed the socks slowly.  Then took another look at my toe nail.  But this time I touched it and.....Subhanallah....the toe nail was coming off.  I could flip it open.  So takut.....

I then took a video and post it to my family wassap group since everyone was still asleep.  Then after sahoor, no one asked about my toe nail.  Well, I guess they have not seen the video.  Never mind lah. Do not want to worry everyone.

As usual after solat Fajr and reading the Noble Quran, I went back to sleep.  When I woke up, there was nobody at home.  Then I called KPJ Kajang to see Dr Surendra Masilamoney (orthopaedic surgeon) but his nurse informed me to get a GL from our panel clinic.

At the panel clinic, the doctor said she could remove the nail for me.  But I refused and insisted to see a specialist.  Then with the GL I went to see Dr Surendra. Alhamdulillah, Dr Surendra explained the problem and procedure very professionally unlike the doctor at the panel clinic.

In shaa Allah, surgery scheduled tomorrow at 9.30am.

A Grandaughter and a Wedding

Hubby and I visited Kak Ngah and our newest grandaughter at KPJ Kajang Hospital after we attended our friend's daughter's wedding.

The bride's parents Haji Abu Husin and Hajah Hazimah lived in Kota Kinabalu Sabah, but had their daughter's wedding reception in Kuala Lumpur instead.  Thus we managed to meet up with all our friends, who were in our Hajj group with Andalusia Travel, when we did our Hajj last August/September.

Fourth Cucu OTW In shaa Allah

Kak ngah called from the hospital informing me that she was in the labour room. Thus she will be delivering her first born anytime today. In shaa Allah.

So I went to the hospital with Sofiyah after completing part of my ironing and after the cookerhood repairman left.

It was raining when we left the house and arrived at the hospital. Alhamdullillah.
Both of us waited at the visitors' lounge just outside the labour and delivery suites. It was here, a year ago that my third cucu, my grandson was born.

I had just completed my solat Maghrib when Amin my SIL called from the labour suite. Kak Ngah wanted to speak to me. She was crying going through her labour pains. I told her to be strong and to remember Allah by reciting zikr and duas.

Kak ngah's SIL then arrived from Melaka with her girlfriends. Then her bffs Nieza, Rita and her husband Jinggo. Later her younger brother Badruzzaman, his wife Maisarah and son Muhammad Zavian too came.

Then at 9.30pm kak ngah delivered her baby, a girl. I now have another grand daughter. Alhamdullillah.

Bad Cough plus Fever

When I had fever and coughing very badly over the weekend and it got worst today, Khairulzaman and Sofiyah took me to KPJ Kajang.  Laling arrived when I was examined by the MO at the Yellow Zone in ER.

I was then put on drip and sent to my room on the fifth floor. Laling stayed with me during the night.

Toe Nail Surgery

If on  Wednesdays I was at the Community Hall Sg Sekamat for Zumba, not today. Instead I was at KPJ Kajang Day Care waiting for my surgery.

Wahid drove me and hubby this morning and after registering at the Admission counter I was sent to Day Care.  I was wheeled into OT at 9am.

The surgeon removed my left big toe nail which was hurting me and also the nail itself had rotten aka dead. It had to be removed because the nail was coming off.

It all started when I was in Madinah last December.  When I put on the shoes to go to Masjid Nabawi, I found the shoes a bit tight.  I thought it was because of the cold weather which somehow shrunk my shoes.  So I kept on wearing it even when it hurts real bad until I reached Mecca for Umrah.

So when Sofiyah's sneakers went missing at Haram, and hubby wanted to buy her a new one, I took the opportunity to buy one too.  Alhamdullillah I felt extremely comfortable wearing the new pair.

Then when we returned home after performing Umrah and I was unpacking my suitcase and was putting away the old shoes I found out the shoe size was Size four! No wonder it would not fit properly.......I wear a size five...

Thus when my toe nail began to turn blackish and about to come off I went and see the doctor who then gave me a referral letter to see a surgeon.

Day Five @KPJ Kajang

This morning after solat fajr I drove to KPJ kajang to look after dear hubby.  Our son Wahiduzzaman was sleeping on the sofa when I arrived.  Poor Wahid he could not stretch his long legs....the sofa not long enough for him lah.

I quietly went over to hubby and touched his forehead. No fever. Alhamdullilah.

Wahid then went home after kissing hubby goodbye.  Hubby then had his bath.  He refused breakfast of plain bread with jam and butter.  He only ate half a slice of pear.  After taking his medicine he went back to sleep.

We were surprised when our nephew Idzqandar came with his wife Azuar in the afternoon.  Kandar knew about hubby's hospitalisation when he read my blog.  According to Azu, Kandar follows my blog now and then. Hehee....

After Kandar and Azu left, my brother-in-law, Hj Mohd Noh aka Abang Gudang came with his wife, Hjh Rafeah aka kak Peah together with their son Suhaimy and his wife Norliza (same name like me....).

Then our son Khairulzaman and son-in-law Ahmad came.  Whilst we were chatting our daughter Ayeshah aka Kak Ngah arrived.  She brought with her kuih kochi and pulut panggang all the way from Seremban.  She was attending her friend's wedding there.

So since now got kuihs....Khairulzaman went to buy packet drinks for us all.  Oh! Forgot to mention.....Azu and Kandar brought serunding daging for us.  So sedap eat with white bread.... but I forgot to serve it when Abang Gudang and family came.  So sorry...

In the evening our grandson Muhammad came with Kak long and Ahmad.  But hubby was already asleep when they came.  But then, perhaps cucu scent was strong and hubby suddenly woke up and cucu kissed and gave his atukde a big hug.  Then atukde fell asleep again....

I returned home after Wahid came for his night shift.  Hehee......

Then I remembered kak long's craving for gulai udang masak tempoyak.  So I drove to Tesco at 11pm and bought a kilo of fresh prawns (luckily still have at the seafood counter, Alhamdullilah).

Reached home, dead tired, bathed and 😴😴😴😴😴😴😴

Kak Ngah Typhoid

Early this morning around 2am whilst I was watching a late movie via Astro
Kak ngah came down and complained that her back hurts and also the area around her tummy.  So I massaged her back whilst watching the movie's ending.

Then we both went upstairs to bed.  I slept with kak ngah in her room since she was unwell.  Luckily she now has a Queen size bed.

Then when she still complained about her painful back....I returned to my room and gently woke hubby who was sound asleep.  Hubby persuaded kak ngah to go to the hospital but she refused.  Then when she began to vomit a few times hubby and I forced her to go to the hospital.  We took her to KPJ Kajang.

It was almost three when we reached KPJ E & A.  Kak ngah continued vomitting and was in pain.  The MO than examined her and took her blood sample for tests.

It was confirmed she has typhoid.  So she was warded.  At first she was given a single deluxe room which was right at the end of the corridor on the 5th floor.  Then hubby requested that she be given the VIP suite.

So hubby and I watched over her while she slept.  Then when it was time for solat fajr hubby drove me home whilst he went to the masjid for solat fajr.

I slept after solat fajr and woke up at 10.30am.  I then drove to KPJ to visit kak ngah.  I brought along an overnight bag for her and when I left the bag with her I told her I was going to have lunch at the hospital cafeteria.

When I was in the lift I heard my mobile ringing Amy Search song Fantasi Bulan Madu and I knew hubby was calling.  I did not answer because I was not alone in the lift.

Then as I was walking to the cafeteria...I heard hubby calling me and there he was having tea at Gloria Jeans Coffee kiosk at KPJ Kajang.  So I joined him and had hot chocolate with curry puff.

Hubby then left and I returned to Kak ngah's room.  The physician Dr Anjali then came and told kak ngah that she will have to undergo endoscopic Thursday morning.  I hope and pray Allah will grant kak ngah with good health always. Aamiinn.

Aliens removed......

I finally decided to have the screws and plate removed from my fourth little toe on my right foot at KPJ Kajang Specialist Hospital. Thus last Monday 1st December, I went to see my orthopaedic surgeon at KPJ Kajang.  The good doctor than fixed Wednesday 3rd December to do the operation.

I was admitted on Tuesday night.  Sofiyah accompanied me since hubby was still at Tanjong Malim.  We were in room 406.  The room smelt funny.  The night nurse then explained that the room had undergone buffing.  Lets ask uncle google what is buffing....  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prMfQsnKRsI.

Hubby and Ayeshah then came later that night.  Sofiyah wanted to spend the night with me at the hospital but hubby was against it.  But Sofiyah got her way when she persuaded her father to allow her to stay.  Being the youngest in the family is a bonus!!

I was already fast asleep when hubby and Ayeshah left us to go home.  I woke up when the nurse came at dawn to give me medicine.  I then had my fajr prayer and read the noble Quran.  At 8.30am the nurse on morning shift gave me the surgical gown to wear during the operation.  Sharp at 8.45am I was wheeled into the operating theatre.

It was already 10am when I was wheeled out of the OT. The nurse showed me the screws and plate in the bottle. I was still groggy but I could hear my hubby talking to the nurses.  I then slept till noon.  Woke up very hungry.....and guess what.....I was served chicken porridge! Still hungry, Ayeshah tapau for me Mee Udang from the hospital cafeteria.

I was discharged that afternoon.  Alhamdullilah, I am fine.  The doctor will remove the bandage on my foot Monday, In shaa Allah.

(X ray of my right foot showing the screws and plate)

(the place and screws....I thought only two...but there were five)

(my bandaged food....looks like a mummified face! hehee.....)

(my bed for the night.....feeling creepy.)

Welcome 2014

Here I am, on New Year's day, at Hospital KPJ Kajang, waiting to be operated on, by Dr Sudirman of KPJ Kajang Specialist Hospital.

The operation was to remove the abscess on my left breast.  Alhamdullilah, according to Dr Sudirman, it is not cancerous.  But then, a lab test will be done, a Swap CNS (Culture and Sensitivity).

(the above sample will be sent to the lab for a Swap CNS (Culture n Sensitivity) and also a histopathology test)

I was wheeled into the operating theatre at around 9.30am.  I was under GA.  When I woke up it was already 11am.  So, I assumed the operation took about an hour or so.....Alhamdullilah.

Hubby was with me when I was taken to the OT.  Then he had breakfast and followed my son Badruzzaman to get his (Badruzzaman) new car.  A Mitsubishi Mirage.

hubby then bought for me this traditional medicine for me to drink, a bottle a day.  It could help speed up my recovery, In shaa Allah.

My broken little toe....

X ray of my 4th toe which had the screw and metal plate embedded.... Alhamdullilah, the surgery went well. Now...road to recovery.... O Allah, please let me have a speedy recovery, Amiinn.

Broke 4th little toe.....

 (after the operation)

(after placing the cast...looks soooo bad..)

(a gift from the hospital management)

Last February I broke my little toe on my right foot.... Then, last Tuesday morning 26th November, I broke my 4th little toe, next to the little toe, on my right foot again.  Two broken little toes in a year??

I had breakfast with laling hubby, my favourite nasi kerabu, at our favourite kelantanese restaurant in Cheras, that Tuesday morning.  Then, when we returned home, Sofiyah was waiting for me to take her to Kajang town to repair her wrist watch.  Its strap was broken.  Since I was already wearing my jubah, I went to the side cupboard to get the car keys, when suddenly my right foot banged into the sofa's metal leg.  There was a sharp pain on my right foot and I sat on the floor, grabbing my right foot trying to ease the pain.  Sofiyah came to my aid.  I was holding back my tears...it was so painful.

I called my daughter, Siti Ayeshah, to take me to Klinik Kita at Saujana Impian.  The doctor took an Xray of my right foot and it was confirmed that my fourth toe was indeed broken.  She issued a letter for the orthopedic surgeon at Kpj Kajang.  Since Dr Loo, who operated on my little toe last February, was on leave, and Dr Mazlan was at OT, I was referred to Dr Surendran.

The operation was scheduled at 4pm that day, but since, there was no hospital bed available, I was told to return at 10am the following day.  Thus I went home that evening.  My foot started to swell.  I began my fasting from 10pm, even though Dr Surendran said I could begin fasting at 6am.  Anyway, Siti Ayeshah and Sofiyah took me to Kpj Kajang that Wednesday morning.

At 1.30pm I was wheeled into the OT.  Alhamdullilah, I managed to solat Zuhur before the surgery.  I was given an LA with a nerve block.  I was told to sit up on the operating table, rest my hand on a pillow the nurses put beneath my jaw, shoulders dropped, and the anesthetist began her job.  I could not feel anything from the waist down.  I doze off during the surgery.  When I woke up, it was over.

Hubby and my two daughters were waiting for me outside the OT.  I was then wheeled to my room S551A on the 5th floor.  When Dr Surendran visited me, he told me that my toe broke in two, so he had to insert two little screws and a metal plate to straighten it.  Well, lets hope whenever I had to fly, I will not trigger the alarm when going through the checkpoint at the airport.  I had a metal plate within me.....

Finally discharged...

The nurse had to change my wrist band at the hospital because it came loose.  In its place was this cute cartoon printed ones....must have been leftover from the childrens'ward...hehehe....

Anyway, I was finally discharged Monday evening.  My son, Khairulzaman, and Sofiyah picked me up and took me home.  Just in time for iftar, but I was not fasting.  I have to replace four days fasting after Ramadhan, In shaa Allah.

When I reached home, my grandson was still at home.  I wanted to hold him, but hubby said better not, since I just returned from the hospital.  My final diagnosis was...food poisoning.  Had to consume more medicines for a few more days....

O Allah, to You I seek forgiveness and please cure me from my ailments.  Amiin.

Third day at the hospital

My grandson visited me last night. So happy. He now could lie on his tummy and held up his head.  So cute....

Third day today, and I am still nauseatic.... The nurse took my blood early this morning for more tests.  Alhamdullilah, during the earlier test, it was confirmed not dengue fever, though the symptoms were almost similar. If its denque again, I may not be able to recover.  Dengue is so painful.....I do not want to get it again.

Warded at KPJ Kajang

Last Friday, I took my mother to KPJ Seremban for her physiotherapy.  Then, while she was being bathed by the KPJ home nursing team, I cooked lunch for both my parents.  Dad could not fast because he had to complete his dosage of antibiotic due to his injured right toe.

Suddenly, I felt nauseatic and vomitted in the kitchen sink.  Quickly I finished my cooking and laid down on the bed.  I felt awful.  I felt dizzy, nauseatic and felt my body and joints aching all over.

After solat zohor, I called up my son, Khairulzaman, to pick me up at my parent's house and to drive me home.  While waiting for him, I slept.  He arrived an hour later and drove me home.

I slept during the journey home.  I felt so sick....body and joints aching, nauseatic and dizzy.  Khairul wanted to take me to the hospital, but I said I will go after solat eshaq.  I was still fasting and felt really bad because I could not cook anything for iftar.  So, my children have to buy outside food for their iftar.  Hubby was breaking fast with his office colleagues.

Then, after eshaq, Khairul and Sofiyah took me to KPJ Kajang.  I had to be hospitalised to undergo tests to find out what was wrong with me.  When hubby arrived at the hospital, I was still at EO.  Then hubby got me a suite so that I will be comfortable during my stay in hospital, Alhamdullilah.
