Wedding Reception - Singapore

Hubby sent me to Corus Hotel for my trip to Singapore.  I boarded Aeroline five minutes before departure at 8am, because I had tummy ache and was in the hotel loo for almost ten minutes. Hahaha....

The journey was comfortable and I spent my time reading the Noble Quran on my mobile and also update my blog. Pitt stop was at Pagoh R & R, and I got down to go to the toilet, again.

Arrived Harbour Front safely. Alhamdulillah.  Used Google Map to locate the nearest Masjid for solat jamaq and qasar Zuhur and Asar.  Unfortunately, got confused with the directions. So, enquired from a nice lady.  She obliged to show me the way until the escalator at the LRT station, which lead me, after a short walk, to the Masjid Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim at Telok Blangah Road. She is Japanese and when I thanked her, she bowed her head. So I bowed too.

After I did my solat, walked back to the LRT station, and purchased a ticket for my trip to Orchard Road where the wedding venue is located. This time two nice ladies (fellow Malaysians) helped me with purchasing the tickets and also took me to the correct platform. They were here on holiday.

I got down at Dhoby Ghaut station, after thanking and saying ta ta to the two ladies. Again, I asked another lady, a local this time, the venue location.  She obliged and pointed the building to me. Alhamdullilah.

I made my way there, and was a bit annoyed when I was unable to cross to the other side to reach the venue.  I had to walk to the nearest traffic light to cross and then U-turn to reach the venue.  Molane was waiting for me when I called him to inform him I was almost reaching the venue.

After meeting Salmah and her hubby Sam, I joined my ex classmates at their table.  Chek Par, Anan, Jeremy, Idris, Sumana, Rosenah, Sukarni and Rukzana already had their lunch.

Then Rukzana drove us (Rosenah, Sumana and I) to her mom's abode at Winsted Road.  As we drove by our old school, Monk's Hill Secondary School, we began to recollect our times during our secondary school years there.  Rukzana's mom is an octogenarian, yet she has excellent memories. I gave her a big hug and kisses when we bade ta ta.

We then went to Beach Road Hawker Centre where I ate my favourite Tahu Goring, Mee Rebus and Satay Singapore. It was sooooo delicious.  I was actually craving for Tahu Goring, because I could not find it here in Kuala Lumpur.  Sukarni then joined us. Alhamdulillah.

Rosenah bought for me the famous Sup Tulang Merah for me to tapau home.Rukzana then drove us to Harbour Front for my trip to Kuala Lumpur. I felt sad when we bade farewell and hope to meet again in future, In shaa Allah.

I arrived Kuala Lumpur safely. I did my solat jamak and qasar (Maghrib and Eshaq) at the hotel's surau. Alhamdulillah.  Khairulzaman then arrived at the hotel and fetched me home.  Alhamdulillah.

An Evening with exMonkshillian

After our visit to Andalusia re our Hajj pilgrimage, hubby sent me to Federal Hotel at Jalan Bukit Bintang, the venue where I will be meeting my exclassmates from Monks Hill Secondary School Singapore.

Alhamdullillah they have arrived safely. The journey by coach from Singapore took them almost nine hours due to heavy traffic all the way. Pity them.

Their roooms were on the tenth floor. Then after resting and solat, we left the hotel to have our dinner at one of the restaurants along Jalan Bukit Bintang.

I was surprised to see the huge crowd along this road. There were street artists and even a live band basking there.

We finally decided to have our dinner at the Chicken Shack, a middle-eastern restaurant. Our bff Datin Norizan Zakaria finally joined us there.

We had so much fun chatting and laughing and also remembering the good old days during our secondary school years.

In shaa Allah we hope to meet again at a diffferent venue. Penang perhaps? Hehee....

My Bff Salmah Awang

This morning I rushed to Tafsir class at UIA. This was the second class I attended for this new Semester.  Our classroom is now at CELPAD just across the UIA Masjid.

I left the house at 7.45am and traffic was smooth until I reached near Taman Melawati. That was where the jam began all the way to Gombak toll.  When I finally reached UIA it was already 8.45am.  So I decided not to go for Tahsin class. I did not want to be late for my Tafsir class which began at 9am and my Tafsir Ustaz is always early.

But then when I was parking my car I met my classmate and she told me our Tafsir Ustaz had a minor accident and will be a little late.  So I went for my Tahsin class first.

Tahsin class is on level 4.  Its in the audio lab. My Tahsin ustaz noticed I did not look well. In fact I could not finish an ayah in one breath like I usually do.

After Tahsin I returned to Tafsir class.  Ustaz was already present.  I sat next to my long time classmate Hjh Normaini.  We met when we both attended Tajweed and Tharannum classes at UIA Nilai.

After class I drove back home via MRR2. The Gombak toll was packed with drivers travelling east.  OMG as I drove home I noticed the jam to Gombak toll began as far as Cheras Tesco. Balik kampong for Eid Adha Mubarak which is Monday.

When I reached home Sofiyah was having her brunch. She cooked sausage with scrambled eggs. Good girl.

After solat Zohor we packed our luggage and groceries and drove to Pedas via LEKAS. Then my mobile rang and it was Salmah. My bff from Singapore.  She had passed Air Keroh Melaka and In shaa Allah will meet me at Senawang toll in an hour.

When I reached Senawang Toll, Salmah and her hubby were already waiting for me.  I offered my apologies and gave Salmah a big hug.  They will spend their weekend at Subang Dorsett Hotel.

Salmah then gave me the Spore Curry Puff which she bought for me.  Thank you very much bff.

Then after meeting Salmah I drove to Siti Hawa's abode to pay her the delivery service for my niece's twentieth birthday.  Adha's birthday is also on 10th Zulhijjah like me. Alhamdullillah.

Sofiyah and I finally reached Rumah Liza around 5.30pm. Alhamdullillah.

Addios bffs....

We finally left the wedding event at 1.45pm.  We took a few photographs at the venue before bidding farewell to my bffs.

Till we meet again....next year In shaa Allah....at my daughter's wedding...I pray that Allah SWT bless all of you with good health and happiness always. Aamiinn.

A wedding in Terengganu

Hubby and I left our hotel at 11.30am Saturday 13th December for the wedding reception of Izan's only daughter, Dania. We drove to the venue using Waze app and reached the Convention Hall at Taman Tamaddun Islam Terengganu half an hour later.

Izan welcomed us with warmth and we could see she was very happy to see us. Welcome to mom-in-law club Izan....heheehe.....

My bffs Salmah, Rosenah, Mokhtar and Molane - they all came without their spouse - were already waiting for us in the hall.  Upon seeing Sal and Rose....i gave them big hugs....the last time we met was at Mokhtar's son wedding in Singapore.

To Dania and husband.....May Allah SWT bless your marriage until jannah. Aamiinn.

Teenagers in 1974, Hot Mamas in 2014

The Year was 1974, we were sweet sixteen then. We were in Secondary Four at Monks Hill Secondary School, Winstedt Road, Singapore.  Standing left to right, was Salmah Awang and Rosenah Baboo.  Kneeling on the grass on the left was Sukarni and yours truly....

Then, in 2014 (40 years later), we met at Mokhtar's son's wedding in Singapore.  Of course, I have met Salmah numerous times over the years, but for Rosenah and Sukarni, it was our first meeting.... Sitting from left, Rosenah, Sukarni, Salmah and I.

When Salmah posted the above pictures on Facebook, I did not notice anything extraordinary, until she pointed it out to me....the four of us Then...and Now.....

Alhamdullilah, thank you Allah, for bringing us together again.
