Mee Udang Port Weld

We checked out of Holiday Inn at noon and this time Wahid drove us home. We did not ride the Penang ferry this time, instead we took the Penang Bridge.

We had our solat at a Masjid near Taiping and then proceeded to Kuala Sepetang to eat Mee Udang. But, alas, the popular Mee Udang stall was closed so we headed to Port Weld instead. Port Weld or new name Kuala Sepetang? 🤔🤔🤔

Anyway, we found this restaurant which serves Mee Udang too. So we tried it out.

Our children had their mee udang S size, whilst hubby and I had L size Mee Udang for ours.  Well, L size is actually Udang Galah, huge and very fresh. The dish was delicious. Alhamdulillah.

After tucking our mee udangs, we drove around Kuala Sepetang town and hubby showed us the Balai Polis where his big brother Commander (R) Haji Abu Bakar was born and grew up too.

We then head for home and arrived safely just before midnight. Alhamdulillah.

Penang Vacation Day Two

After our breakfast, all of us, except hubby, drove to Komtar.  But then, we had to look for a cobbler to mend Khairul's shoes.  One of its sole had came off.  So we googled and found a street cobbler infront of CIMB near Gurney Plaza.  Since it would take at least an hour for the cobbler to mend his shoes, we all went to Gurney Plaza to pass the time.

We finally reached Komtar and found the entrance to The Top.  After parking our suv, we took the lift to level 57.  Bought our tickets and then proceeded to level 65.  Then to level 67 where the Rainbow Skywalk is.

Then from Komtar we went to Penang Hill.  We had our solat at the Masjid on Penang Hill.  When Wahiduzzaman purchased our tickets for the tram ride, I was given a Senior Citizens' rate.  It was a blessing because I will only be sixty in June. 😁

Penang Trip Day One

We had our short vacay during Sofiyah's semester break.  We left for Penang at 9am.  Khairul was driving and we had our brunch at R & R Sg Buloh.

As usual, we took the Penang ferry and upon reaching Penang Island, we drove to Masjid Kapitan for our solat. Then off to Gurney Drive to eat Laksa Penang and Rojak Pesambur.  But, none of the Laksa stalls were opened, so we just had Rojak Pesambur.

When we finally arrived at Holiday Inn, it was almost 4pm. After a short nap, all of us except hubby head to the beach for a swim and then to the hotel pool where we played volleyball. Wahid and I versus Khairul and Sofiyah. We had so much fun. The boys then played ping pong before we returned to our rooms.

I was too tired and slept early. Hubby and our children had their dinner and then went shopping along Ferringhi Road.

Pre Anniversary Dinner

Hubby and I had our pre Anniversary dinner at Lebanon Restaurant near Holiday Inn. Their cuisine were soooo delicious.  We ate what the waitress recommended and she was right. Would definitely come again In shaa Allah.

Laze by the sea...

After a scrumptious breakfast, hubby and I lepak on the deck chairs by the beach. What bliss.....

Wednesday Night on board Penang Ferry

We took the last ferry from Butterworth at 11.30pm. Arrived at Holiday Inn past midnight. Alhamdullillah. Exhausted but happy....pre wedding anniversary bash....hahahaah.....

Sunset @ Batu Ferringhi December 2008

In December 2008, I took these pictures at the same spot where I took pictures of sunset in December 2010. Notice the difference??

Sunset at Batu Ferringhi December 2010

In December 2010, the sunset view from Holiday Inn Penang was on the left side.... In 2008, the sunset view was straight ahead...

We drove to Penang just after the dawn prayers, on Saturday 11 December 2010. My son Khairulzaman drove the MPV. All my children, except Badruzzaman, tagged along.

During the journey it was raining all the way.... We finally reached Holiday Inn Penang at around 1.30pm.

On Sunday evening, Sofiyah and I went on the 'parachute'. It costs RM50 each for a single lap. It was a thrilling ride for us both.
