Last Day in Ganu

We will be returning home today.  Thus I will miss Khairul much much.  So after our solat Fajr we waited for Khairul who was getting ready for his practical at Kuala Terengganu Hospital.

After giving him big hugs and kisses we said our goodbyes.  So sad.......

Then hubby and I did our morning walk along the Terengganu waterfront.  The waterfront is in bad shape.  There were broken bricks and large gaping holes due to sea erosion.  We had to be extra careful and watched where we were walking.

When hubby decided to do a second round I returned to our hotel.  I then woke up Wahid and Sofiyah and told them to pack their bags for our journey home.

We then had brunch at a stall near the junction at the bus terminal.  Nasi Dagang Vintage.  The food they served were delicious and their humble stall is very clean.

After brunch we began our journey home.  If yesterday hubby dropped by his friend's house in Kuala Terengganu, today he visited another friend in Kemaman.

Then when we reached Geliga in Kemaman we went to Warong Sata Awie to eat their delicious Sata and Otak-otak.  Alhamdullillah.

As we continued our journey passing through Gambang near Kuantan port....we were shocked to see the roads and villages covered in red powder.  Its Bauxite. So unhealthy.

When we finally reached home it was midnight. Alhamdullillah.

Day Two at Kuala Terengganu

We visited the Museum, the Masjid Crystal for solat and the jetty for our boat cruise. But no boat cruise because we were short of one passenger.  Minimum number of passengers for the cruise is six. Next visit lah......In shaa Allah.

Tikar Mengkuang at Pasar Payang

After we had breakfast at the hotel, Khairul then drove Sofiyah and me to Pasar Payang.  It was a Friday....so it was quite deserted.  There were few stalls opened for business.  In fact the whole street were deserted.

Sofiyah and I then went to level one of Pasar Payang to window shopped whilst hubby and sons went to the Masjid for Friday prayers.

Well.....level one was so stuffy that Sofiyah bought a hand fan to cool herself.  Hubby told us to look for Mengkuang mats and after going round and round the whole floor we came across this Makcik selling her Mengkuang handicrafts at Stall No.17.

When hubby came after Friday prayers with our sons...hubby bought half a dozen Mengkuang mats.  One of which is for Rumah Liza. Tqvm dear hubby.

Meanwhile....since our 'men' were at the Masjid, Sofiyah and I walked to the Tourists' office nearby.  Luckily there were a little shade for us to keep off the heat.  It was hot here in Ganu. And as usual....took pictures and selfies....

Then we went to Khairul's rented room just behind the Terengganu Specialist Hospital.  His roomate was away in Japan for two weeks, thus Khairul will have the house to himself.  I told Khairul to make sure he keeps the house clean at all times.

We then had lunch at the beach at a stall called Warong Adikberadik.  They served delicious sotong celop and other seafood dishes.

On our way back to the hotel we toured the coastal village and reached our hotel before Maghrib. Alhamdullillah.

Ganu Trip via Jelebu

I fried mee hoon and karipap for breakfast this morning.  Then hubby went to KPJ Kajang for his follow-up with the surgeon, a week after his minor surgery on his left toe nail. Wahid drove hubby to KPJ.

Then when hubby called about two hours later to pick him up at KPJ, Wahid went. We were all ready to leave for Terengganu when kak ngah called.  She wanted to see us off.

Since Karak highway were closed to traffic due to landslide, we took LEKAS and exited at Ampangan toll and proceeded to Jelebu.

From Jelebu we took the old road to Karak Town and had our lunch at the food court there.

Then we had our solat at the Temerloh R n R and continued our journey via the East Coast Highway to Kuala Terengganu.

Alhamdullillah we reached the hotel safely and our son Khairul joined us at the hotel.  We then had our dinner at the Kuala Terengganu Waterfront.
