Ramadan Day 28

Last night after Teraweeh at Masjid Uniten, the four of us went to Kota Damansara to meet kak long and family.  Hubby again lost his way there....luckily kak ngah was with us so she showed him the way to kak long's condominium.

Then when I called kak long to enquire whether she was at home, kak long told us she was just about to leave the Masjid nearby.  So we told her to wait us at the mamak restaurant for teh tarik.
Kak long, her husband Ahmad and son Muhammad were already waiting for us.  We then had teh tarik with roti nan and chicken tandoori.

Since it was past midnight when we bade our goodbyes....we took the opportunity to wish kak long happy birthday.  We hug and kissed her too.  Kak long and family will spend their Raya in Kedah.  So we also wished her and famiky Eid Mubarak. This will be the first time in her life celebrating Eid away from us.  Kak long we love you very much.

Then this morning after our pre dawn meal, solat fajr and reading the Quran, I began cooking chicken and beef rendang and finally ketupat.
So, for iftar, we got to eat all of the above, Alhamdullilah.

Ramadan Day 27

Wahid came home while I was sleeping.....at 8am today.  He drove from Ipoh after his pre dawn meal.  Alhamdullilah he arrived home safely.

I again missed physiotherapy today.... My knee still hurts..but not all the time.  If I sat too long and then when I stood...I felt a sharp pain on my knee.  I did try running a few steps....no pain at all.. So its very perplexing... Stationery pain...moving no pain.... O Allah, please cure me of this ailment. Aamiinn.

I did ironing today and finished the laundry.  Then after solat Jumaat, my son-in-law came to collect a package delivered for him, and also the Raya Cookies for kak long and his mom.  Kak long will be spending Raya with her in-laws this year.  I will miss kak long and my grandson too.

Then hubby came home.  So we bade goodbye to Ahmad and wished him Selamat Hari Raya Maaf zahir Batin.
Hubby and I then drove to Rembau to the jewellery store.  I had my bangles repaired.

Since I did not cook for iftar today, hubby went to the bazar Ramadan in Rembau town and bought a few dishes, Alhamdullilah.

On our way home we stopped by at Rumah Liza because hubby wanted to give duit raya to his workers.

Hubby stopped at Petronas to buy drinks, instead he was given free drinks and two packets of fried mee goring. We broke fast along Lekas highway just after the Setul toll.

We then gave a packet of the mee goring to a couple at the toll gazebo.

For Teraweeh we went to Masjid Uniten.  Ayeshah and Sofiyah followed us too.

Ramadan Day 26

Kak biah woke me up sharp at 10am today when she called me over the phone.  I was a bit blurred...wondering why she called.  Then she told me about going over to Hajah Zaitun aka kak Tun's house to bid her farewell.  Kak Tun was going to Mekah for umrah.

She was going with Dr Karim, her hubby.  Their flight was at 3pm but they have to be at KLIA at 12 noon.

So.....before they left for the airport, the Tadarrus ladies took a photo with her.  After bidding our goodbyes, we all had our Tadarrus at my abode.  There were only three of us.  Hajah Sarah, kak Biah and I.

We completed Juzuk 19, Alhamdullilah.  So, we will continue Tadarrus two weeks after Eid Mubarak, In shaa Allah.

Then hubby sent me a picture of the gazebo at Rumah Liza.  Alhamdullilah, construction had completed.

Ramadan 25

After Tadarrus today we took a group photo.  Hjh Zaitun and Hanidah did not attend. Hjh Zaitun had to attend her husband's cousin's funeral, whilst Hanidah was unwell.

Hubby, Sofiyah and I had our Teraweeh at Masjid Uniten. After Teraweeh hubby wanted to take us to Residence Hotel for supper, but he coffee house was closed already.

So we went to one of our favourite restaurants, Old Timers Cafe at Bangi.  I had nasi lemak with telur, Sofiyah had fried kue teaw whilst hibby had pulut hitam with ice cream.

Ramadan day 24

I missed physio again today.... so I did the exercises at home.  Did everything except the leg press.  I do not have the equipment....

Anyway, for Tadarrus today, we completed Juzuk eighteen, Alhamdullilah.

Then for solat Teraweeh we went to Masjid Uniten.

Ramadan Day 23

Kak long and her family returned to their home after fajr today.  Muhammad was drowsy when we hug and kissed him when we bid farewell.

Hubby too left early for work after sending Sofiyah to school.  As for me I slowly did the house chores....and then went back to sleep...right after I read the Quran.

For Tadarrus today..two ladies Hajah Nomi and Hanidah did not come.  Alhamdullilah we completed Juzuk 16.

After Tadarrus I gave them rambutans, mangosteens and langsat for them to take home.  The fruits were from my orchard at Rumah Liza.

Then after solat asar I followed hubby to our village in Pedas.  We arrived on time at the Surau next to our office.  We were invited to attend their buka puasa event and also to distribute our zakat to the widows and orphans in the village.  Alhamdullilah the event was a success.

For iftar the food were so simple....only rice with beef curry, sambal chicken, gulai cendawan and lemak sayur pucuk.  Simple yet delicious. Alhamdullilah.

After solat maghrib and eshaq we had solat Teraweeh.  Since I was using the chair during solat.....some of the makciks enquired why I used a chair since I was a lot younger than them.  So....I told them my story...bla bla bla bla n bla......end of story...heheehe... It was sweet of them to ask.  I was sitting behind the ladies in the first picture.

We then had hot tea after Teraweeh.  I could not resist the leftover mee goring.  So delicious.... hubby had the bubur badak berendam....too sweet for me though.

After saying goodbye to all the nice ladies, hubby and I head for home.

Alhamdullilah, when we reached home, kak ngah served us kuih keria aka Malay doughnut made from sweet potato and flour.  Deep fried and then mixed with melted sugar.  It was delicious too, Alhamdullilah.

Ramadan day 22

When I woke up to prepare the pre dawn meal kak long was still awake. She was afraid to sleep in case she would not be able to wake up again for the pre dawn meal.

So she helped me set the table whilst I cooked fried yellow mee with left over prawn sambal.  Then I also fried mee hoon with left over prawn sambal for hubby since he does not like yellow mee.

As usual...after solat fajr and reading the Quran....I slept....
Then when I woke up, I followed hubby to Pedas.  But before that we went to Ros's house to collect the curtains that she sewed for my day bed.

On our way to Pedas, we visited mak and abah in Seremban.  I helped abah to try on the baju melayu and Alhamdullilah it fitted him nicely.  Mak's baju kurung also fitted nicely, Alhamdullilah.

Then off we drove to Pedas.  Hubby left me at Rumah Liza so that I could hang the curtains for the day bed.  Hubby went to Rembau town to buy food for iftar.

The curtains for the day bed fitted nicely too.  Thus my guests for this coming Raya will be the first to sleep on it.... Of course they will have to draw lots since it is a single day bed....

For iftar today...all my children (except Wahid), my son-in-law and grandson were at the dinner table.  My grandson got to sit on his baby chair, Alhamdullilah.

We went to Masjid Uniten for Teraweeh.  Khairul was driving. Ahmad our son-in-law also followed us.  Then after Teraweeh on our way to the parking lot, we met Dr Karim with his family.

Then when we reached home it was pitch black. There was a blackout.  So we had to use candles and a camping light.

Ramadan day 21

Hubby and I had our iftar and solat Teraweeh at hubby's employer's abode at Taman Tun Dr Ismail.  So Sofiyah and her siblings went to Shah Alam for iftar and also Solat Teraweeh at Masjid Shah Alam.

They took the above street art pictures at Shah Alam.

I received the above door gift, a beautiful piece of Korean silk after the event at Taman Tun.  Thank you Puan Sri.

When we reached home....our grandson, Muhammad was waiting for us.  He could walk very fast now, Alhamdullilah.

Ramadan day 20

I was preparing the pre dawn meal by heating the pulut kuning and rendang daging from last night's moreh at Masjid Uniten when  I heard, via TV1, about MH17 which crashed in the Ukraine.  It was not officially confirmed that the plane was shot down by militants.  There were no survivors.  Another tragedy after MH370. So sad......

I had to go for physio again today. So I drove to Colombia Hospital and arrived ten minutes early.  My appointment was at 8am.

Mr Jeffery was away, attending a course somewhere. So Nethiya attended to me.  Did the usual routine....except for leg press where I had to lift 130lbs twenty times for both legs and 120lbs ten times for my rigjt leg only.  The session ended with stationery cycling tension 8 for 10 mins.  I was exhausted after that.

Then I went to Dr Azfar's clinic for a follow up appointment.  He said I could begin doing my solat the normal way.  No need to do it sitting on a chair.  I was so happy to hear that, Alhamdullilah.  He also said I could start running on the treadmill at a slow pace. Well, I will try that too.  He also adviced me to do more leg press at the gym to strengthen my leg muscle.  In shaa Allah I will go to the nearby Kaki Gym to start training.  Dr Azfar assured me that I will be able to run in the Stanchart Int Marathon in October.  He also told me not to run more than 20km per week.  Hello doctor......I could only managed 12 km per week before the knee injury.....

By the time I reached home it was already 10.30am......no time for me to catch my sleep, since I have to Tadarrus.  So I went to Hjh Nomi's abode and we began reading the Quran without the other ladies.  I read first. When it was Nomi's turn, Hjh Rafisah, Hjh Norazmi and Hanida arrived.  Then, when it was my turn again to read the Quran....I managed to read a whole page but I was so sleepy that I excused myself and returned home.

Since I have not slept since 4am....when my head touched my pillow...I fell asleep.  I woke up at 2pm and had ablution to solat zuhur.  Since Dr Azfar said I could solat normally...I tried to do it.  Standing, rukuk and sujud was not a problem, it was when I wanted to sit between two sujuds that I felt tremendous pain....not on my right leg...but my left.  It was so painful that I stopped praying and sat on the edge of.my bed and repeat my solat zuhur....

I then called the Physio clinic at Colombia Hospital.  Nethiya answered my call.  So I told her my problem.  She told me not to worry because it will take some time before I could kneel and sit between the two sujuds.  She could answer my queries because she too have other Muslim patients undergoing rehab at the clinic and who also have similar problems like mine.

Then while waiting to pick up Sofiyah at school, I read the Quran until Juzuk 19, Alhamdullilah.

For our Teraweeh prayers, we went to Masjid Uniten.  Surprisingly the saf for the female area were four rows from end to end, Alhamdullilah.  According to hubby, from tomorrow night, the Arab Imam will be on duty.  It seemed he just returned from his "overdue" semester break.....hehehe... He is a student at Uniten University.

Hubby, Sofiyah and I then went to Ayza Restaurant to have supper.  I had thosai rawa, hubby mee goring mamak and Sofiyah cheese nan with chicken tandoori, Alhamdullilah.

Ramadan Day 19

For pre dawn meal this morning I cooked fried rice with the leftover duck omelette.  But I only ate 5 pieces of dates and drank a mug of hot green tea, Alhamdulilah.

Hubby told me he would break fast with his colleagues at the ulu langat water treatment plant.  So I need not cook for iftar.  Sofiyah and I planned to go to the Ramadan bazaar to buy nasi kerabu and roti john.  We have to buy for Badruzzaman too.

Then I decided to call hubby to confirm whether he will be having iftar ar ulu langat.  Hubby told me since he was at Tanjong Malim, he will not be able to attend the iftar.  So........off to the kitchen to defrost tenggiri fish and kampung chicken.

I was folding the laundry when I heard some one calling me at the side gate.  He was Ah Keong....the contractor cum chef cum handyman.....

Ah Keong told me hubby wanted him to mend the leaking pipe near the washing machine.  I informed Ah Keong that it was repaired yesterday.  But Ah Keong said same pipeline different spot.  So he showes me the new leak.   He managed to mend the leaking pipe.  Alhamdullilah.

Btw for Tadarrus today, we completed Juzuk 14. Alhamdullilah.

We had our Teraweeh prayer at Masjid Uniten.  After Teraweeh, the Masjid staff announced that on our way out to pick a packet of door gift at the main entrance.  In the goody bag was a tupperware filled with pulut kuning and rendang daging.  It was delicious when I ate it once we reached home.

Ramadan Day 18

This morning for our pre dawn meal I cooked scrambled eggs.  Only Sofiyah and I ate the scrambled eggs with wheat bread.  Of course for the scrambled eggs we poured kicap manis kipas udang plus pepper. Yummy!!

As usual after Fajr prayer I read the Quran.  I completed Juzuk 17, Alhamdullilah. Then......zzZzzZZzZz..until 10am.

Then I sms to all the Tadarrus ladies that they should proceed without me....because I had to go to Giant.  I needed to purchase a new hot and warm water dispenser.  The old dispenser had kaput.

So I drove to Giant.  I felt awkward...coz I have not been driving the last two months.  Alhamdullilah, I reached Giant safely.  Since I was there I did some grocery shopping too.

I did find an ELBA water dispenser but I did not like the model on display.  So from Giant I drove to TESCO.  There I bought a PENSONIC water dispenser.  But then when I reached home and wanted to install it....I found its side had a slight gap.  Feared that the gap was a factory defect, I wanted to change it at Tesco.

But then Ayeshah offered to change it for me, Alhamdullilah.  So I waited for the plumber instead.  He only came at 2.30pm.  So I showed him the burst pipe along the outer wall....the damaged faucet in my sons' bathroom and to replace the old faucet under the kitchen sink.  After he completed the job....I offered the riped rambutans for him to take home.  Hey....he was not paid with rambutans... I paid in RM.  But then, he had to pluck the rambutans himself....heheehe...

For iftar since there were leftovers from yesterday's iftar....I just fried omelette using two duck eggs for today's iftar.  When using duck eggs to make omelette...use lots of chopped onions and chillies and pepper....to drown the ducky odour.....

Then for Teraweeh prayers....hubby, Sofiyah and I went to Masjid Uniten.  When we reached the Masjid....eshaq prayer had begun.... I borrowed one of the Masjid's chair since more comfortable.

Then whilst waiting for hubby at the car....Sofiyah took my picture and then we took selfie too.....

On our way home...we drop by at the Arab grocery store since hubby wanted to buy fruit juices made in Turkey.  While waiting for hubby...Sofiyah and I bought two oblong mutton burgers and three beef burgers from a burger stall near the Arab store.

Ramadan Day 17

Hubby and my children who works in Selangor are on leave today.  So is Wahid who is studying in Ipoh Perak.  Wahid returned to Ipoh at 4pm today.

I had Tadarrus with the ladies at Hajah Nomi's abode.  At first there were three of us...Hjh Nomi, Hjh Rafisah and I.  Then Hjh Sarah joined us half an hour later.  Alhamdullilah we completed Juzuk 12.

When I got home after Tadarrus, I began cooking for Wahid ayam kampung masak lemak cili api and fried ikan bilis with green chillies.  Thus he could eat it during iftar when he reached Ipoh.  He could also share the dishes with his housemates.

For Teraweeh hubby,Sofiyah and I went to Masjid Ikram.  I got to pray beside students from Africa.  They were a lot taller than me.  I was between Sofiyah and the Africans.  Next to Sofiyah were students from Indonesia.

When we got home after Teraweeh....the sweet aroma of freshly baked Lasagna came from the kitchen.  Ayeshah cooked the chicken Lasagna.  It was delicious.

Ramadan day 16

The world cup final between Germany and Argentina were telecast live over astro tv. Thus when I woke up this morning to prepare the pre dawn meal, Ayeshah was watching the match alone.  She was frustrated because Argentina did not score any goals during the first and second half of the match....neither did Germany, my favoueite team.

I am a die-hard fan of Germany since 1974 when they won the world cup.  I remembered Franz Beckenbauer and striker Gerd Muller. But, I had a crush on Johan Cruijff...the Dutch footballer.... I had a poster of him in my room and his picture was embedded in my crocodile file which I carried to school everyday during the world cup 1974.  I was sixteen....sweet and bubbly....hehehe...

Anyway, Germany won again scoring a goal at extra time in 2014.  Congratulations Germany!!

This morning hubby sent me to colombia Hospital for physio.  Mr Jeffry the Manager of physio clinic attended to me.  Did the same routine except for leg press where the weights were increased to 120 lbs for both feet and 110 lbs for my right foot.

Then had Tadarrus with the ladies again today and we completed Juzuk 11, Alhamdullilah.  After solat zuhur I nap until 4pm since I had not had any sleep since 4am today.

Then I cooked assam pedas tenggiri and also fried mee hoon.  Hubby had his iftar at the Masjid Punchak Alam today...so only Wahid, Sofiyah and I were at home.  We had nasi kerabu for iftar instead.

We bought the nasi kerabu at the nearby  bazar Ramadan.  Before that I went to Parkson Kajang to buy baju melayu for abah and Wahid and baju kurung for mak.  I went with Wahid and Sofiyah.  I also went to Adams alteration to alter hubby's baju melayu, I waited in the car with Wahid since we parked our car infront of Adams boutique.

Ramadan day 15

This morning when I was preparing the pre dawn meal...Khairul was watching the World cup match third and fourth placing between Holland and Brazil.  Holland won 3 goals to Nil.  Poor Brazil. I think they did poorly because Neymar was not playing.... Anyway they have four years to train till the next WC in 2018.  In shaa Allah...if I am still breathing I will be sixty years old.

When I woke up at 10am...I bid Hubby goodbye because he had to go to Tanjung Malim.  Then I did the ironing...hubby's shirts and trousers.  I was frustrated because I could not turn on the tv when Badruzzaman rearrange the furniture yesterday.

Then  when Wahid woke up.....he helped me fixed the connections to the tv and also rearrange the furniture again. I could then watch tv and iron at the same time, Alhamdullilah.

Today for iftar, besides the leftover kurma chicken and fried tenggiri...I cooked mee rebus.  I followed Betty Yew's mee rebus recipe in her book Asian Delights All-Time Favorite Recipes.

For Teraweeh we went to Masjid Ikram.  Since Wahid was around he drove us there.

Yesterday when I was at Rumah Liza I took a few pictures of our new gazebo. Hope it will be ready by Eid Mubarak.

Save Gaza

Ramadan Day 14

This morning when I woke up to prepare the pre dawn meal....I saw Wahid's bedroom door was closed.  Thus Wahid must have arrived home the night before.

I cooked fried rice and refried the leftover prawn fritters from yesterday's iftar.  So nothing was wasted, Alhamdullilah.
After fajr prayers I read the Quran and completed Juzuk 13, Alhamdullilah.  Then I doze off until 10am....hehehe..

When I woke up at 10am I quickly got ready to go to KL.  Then I woke up Khairul and Sofiyah who would accompany me. Khairul drove us there.

Our first stop was at the Mines.  Sofiyah wanted to repair her mobile phone's screen which had cracked when she dropped it at her friend's house. Khairul accompanied her to the Samsung outlet at level 3.  I waited in the car since parking was already full at that level.

Then off we went to Suria KLCC.  We went to Parkson Grand and bought hubby a baju melayu.  I hope he likes it. I took the opportunity to go to Kinokuniya at level 4 and bought a book "The World Without Islam".

Then khairul sent me to my seamtress at Campbell Complex.  My baju kurung were ready for collection.  The area around Jalan TAR were packed with shoppers, especially SOGO.

Since we have to return to the Mines to collect Sofiyah's mobile,.Khairul took Jalan Imbi to get to the Smart Tunnel.  But then he told me he wanted to go to Sungei Wang...so Sofiyah and I waited for him in the car infront of Times Square.

While waiting for him, I read the Quran using my mobile. I completed one juzuk, Alhamdullilah.

Then we rushed to the Mines to get Sofiyah's mobile.  From there we drove to Pedas.  Alhamdullilah we reached Rumah Liza an hour before Iftar.

I took a picture of three pieces of unripe apple custard.  Apple custard tastes like soursop.

We had Teraweeh prayers at the Surau besides Rumah Liza.  I had to bring our folding chair since I left my 'walking chair' at home.

Oh yaaaa....there was no Tadarrus today since me and the other ladies agreed not to Tadarrus on weekends.

Ramadan Day 13

I missed physio again this morning.....hubby could send me...but I have to take a cab home instead after physio. So....I decided not to go.....  Hubby had to send abah for his appointment with the doctor at KK Ampangan.

As for Tadarrus, we completed Juzuk ten, Alhamdullilah.  Today there were only four of us... Hjh Zaitun, Hjh Siti Sarah, Hanida and I.

When Hjh Siti Sarah saw the peppermint herbs which hubby planted...she took a few stalks to plant at her house.

For iftar, we plucked a few peppermint leaves, soaked it in salt water for ten minutes, and ate it with sambal belacan....yummy...

We also added the peppermint leaves to our Boh tea.... hubby enjoys his tea this way....

For Teraweh, we went to Masjid Ikram.  Khairul was back home for the weekend, so he drove us there.

After Teraweeh, there was a Tazkirah session by a guest Imam from USA, Alhamdullilah.

Ramadan day 12

When I woke up to prepare the pre dawn meal, the lights were on in the living room.  Ayeshah was watching the world cup semi final match between Argentina and Netherlands.  Ayeshah is an Argentinan fan.

Argentina won by penalty kicks 4 3.  Thus they will meet Germany....my team...for the final match.  When it comes to world cup football....I only watch the opening and closing matches.....hehehe.... Well, I hope Germany will win 3 1.

For Tadarrus today, we completed Juzuk nine Alhamdullilah.  As for my own reading the Quran, I finished Juzuk 12, Alhamdullilah.

When we did Teraweeh at Masjid Ikram....the Imam was a foreigner who recited the Quranic verses extremely well.  He is a Hafiz.  For the last rakaat of witr...he made a very lengthy doa during qunote.  He said it in Arabic.

There were young children at the Masjid....and upon seeing them....I suddenly miss my grandson.....

Ramadan Day 11

For the last three days, I was having pain again on my right knee.  A wrong move, and 'zappp'...a sudden sharp pain.  When I had pre dawn meal this morning, I wanted to take Arcoxia, which will, In shaa Allah, ease the pain.  But, I decided not to take it.  So, after fajr prayer and reading the Quran (I have completed Juzuk 12) I slept.

When I woke up at 10am, there was no pain....until I began to walk downstairs....  So, I moved slowly, doing the house chores and preparing for Tadarrus.

After Tadarrus, which was around 1pm, we completed Juzuk eight,
Hajah Nomi, Hajah Rafisah and I went to Datin Zahariah's abode to pay her a visit.  She was unwell.  We pray that she will gain her health back. Aamiinn.

(this was at Masjid Uniten's entrance)

Ramadan day 10

Today is already 10th Ramadan....Alhamdullilah.  I did not attend physio at the hospital today.  Thus I have missed three physio sessions.  Last week I could not make it because hubby had to go outstation...thus no one to drive me... But today hubby was available and wanted to send me, but I did not feel well....so I slept after Fajr prayer.

I woke up at 10.30am and prepared for Tadarrus session with my neighbours.  Hanida was the first to arrive followed by Hjh Rafisah, Hjh Nyonya, Hjh Norazmi, Hjh Nomi, Hjh Zaitun and Hjh Siti Sarah.  We completed Juzuk 7 today, Alhamdullilah.

Sofiyah had her Maths tuition at 3pm.  I did the ironing whilst waiting for solat Asar.  After Asar, I fried mee hoon and cooked chicken soup for hubby. Besides these dishes.....there were also left over food from yesterday's iftar, Alhamdullilah.

We again went to Masjid Ikram for Teraweeh prayers.  After Teraweeh, when I wanted to stand up (I was using a chair during Teraweeh) I felt sharp pain on my operated knee.  I also have difficulty walking.  Luckily my daughters were with me....so they assisted me to our car.  Hubby was already waiting for us.

Hubby said I should not have done the ironing and mopping the house. I should rest more. Well, I may have to hire a cleaner to clean our abode.

Ramadan Day 9

Alhamdullilah.... today is the 9th day of Ramadan.  For our pre dawn meal this morning, I cooked fried mee hailam and since there were leftover rice....I cooked fried rice too.

As usual hubby went to the Masjid for fajr prayers.  Then, our grandson left for home with his parents after fajr.  I will definitely miss him.

For Tadarrus today...we completed Juzuk 6.  There were only four of us.  My abode is the venue for this whole week, In shaa Allah.  I have completed Juzuk 10 for my personal reading of the Quran, Alhamdullilah.

Hubby brought home these trays of fresh duck eggs to be distributed to my neighbours....but when I enquired whether they would like to have some....most said they do not eat duck eggs....oh well... Looks like I will have to make salted duck eggs....

For our Teraweeh prayers, we went to Masjid Ikram again. But then....the local Imam lead the prayers again.... guess he will not be around during weekends....balik kampong spirit...

Ramadan Day 8

Hubby bought a baby chair for our grandson yesterday. Thus, grandson can join us for iftar when he returns from his paternal grandparents.

Today afternoon, Ayeshah, Sofiyah and I went to Ampang Park to do our Raya shopping.  Well, hubby wants me to buy Sofiyah's raya clothes.  She now has three pairs of baju kurung, Alhamdullilah.

On our way home, we went to the fresh mart at Saujana.  I wanted to cook Laksa Assam.  Among the ingredients were fresh mackerel.  So I bought a kilogramme.

Then after solat zuhur....I began cooking the laksa gravy.  I googled the recipe and found it at Rasa Malaysia.  In fact a lot of Asian Recipes are available via this site.

After setting the table for iftar, I went upstairs to do my solat Asar.  Then when I went down again.....I was surprised to see kak long and her family in the living room. Alhamdullilah they have returned from Kedah safely.

I missed my grandson very much.  He could walk very well now, unaided. Alhamdullilah.  The baby chair fits him nicely too.

Then, after our solat Maghrib, hubby, our son-in-law, khairul,Ayeshah and I went to Masjid Ikram for Teraweeh prayers.  Tonight, the Imam is the same one the previous night. A foreign student from Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur.  He recited the Quran verses extremely well. Alhamdullilah.

Ramadan Day Seven

After predawn meal today...as usual I hang out the laundry outside the house.  Then I watered all the potted plants around the house including the hedge too.  When the Azan was heard coming from the masjid...hubby was already driving out of the car porch to the masjid for fajr prayer.

When I checked my mobile for any new messages via whatsapp....I was shocked to receive the following images of the beautiful and talented singer Dato'Sharifah Aini who passed away this morning at 0126 at Hospital Damansara.  She was 61 years and 3 days old.  Her birthday was 2nd July.  We thus shared the same zodiac, Cancer.

I have never met Kak Pah (her nickname) nor have I attended any of her live concerts...but I grew up listening to her songs and watching her perform on television. Her melodious voice are unmatched with any of the local singers these days.  When she sang, her diction were perfect.., clear word by word....

Before she wore the hijab...her volumnous hair was her trademark....she was beautiful then.....but since wearing the hijab....MasyaAllah...she was even more beautiful...
Kak Pah, you have returned home to meet Allah in the holy month of Ramadan. May Allah bless your soul always.  Al Fatihah.
